Reflections

        A little need

        Pranjali Singh

        Abstract
        This poem is a potent comment on twhat humanity is presently inflicting upon the world .

        Heinous crimes, barbarous murders, A little yearning for Patience from our restless
        Ruthless bloodsheds, evanescing humanity;  souls.
        There’s a little need of Love in this world,
        A little desire of Sympathy, Hazardous air, toxic water,
        A little yearning for Compassion from our Deteriorating environment, increasing
        brassy hearts.                           industrialisation;
                                                 There’s a little need of Concern in this world,
        Petrifying terrorism, turbulent riots, A little desire of Selflessness,
        Bloodthirsty fights, eternal enmity; A little yearning for Generosity from our cruel
        There’s a little need of Peace in this world, minds.
        A little desire of Brotherhood,
        A little yearning for Kindness from our stony Vanishing responsibility, succumbing
        bosoms.                                  honesty,
                                                 Diminishing justice, rising corruption;
        Weakening friendships, breaking families, There’s a little need of Truth in this world,
        Fading love, deepening loneliness; A little desire of Wisdom,
        There’s a little need of Unity in this world, A little yearning to realise that we’re sinking
        A little desire of Faith, deeper in the mire of all evils.
