The Gift of the Night School

        Jenny Gillespie Mason

        Abstract
The opportunity for inner progress is afforded to us not only in the waking hours, but during
sleep. Understanding the various planes we move through in sleep, as well as asking for
more consciousness before sleep, allows us to gain incremental mastery of our dream states.
Consciousness in dreams can lead to decisive positive movements in yoga. Dream scenarios
involving adverse forces provide chances to implement what we have gained thus far on the
path. Recognising the inner being as more active during the sleep state motivates us to aspire
for conscious contact with our inner being in dreams, which is supported by maintaining a
        practice of remembering our dreams.
