Abstract
This article owes its inspiration to many sources of light. It delineates the importance of a holistic approach to
pre-natal care that takes into consideration the wellness of the mother at all levels of her being. Meanwhile, from
a psychological viewpoint, it provides a profile of the developing stages in this journey through motherhood and
maps a practical pathway of practices that facilitates a mother in her journey of providing optimum care for the
holistic development of the child. It advocates an organic within-to-without approach, harnessing the power of
aspiration, consciousness and the strength of conscious choices to render the journey a labour of love.
