Is Technology a Catalyst in Human Evolution?

Abstract
Today, technology has taken the world by storm, it is entering our lives in ways that compel
us to evaluate its role in times to come and ensure that it becomes a conscious collaborator
well aligned to serve the human aspiration of manifesting the Divine Life upon Earth. As
technology is a form that brings to life human intention, even when man-made machines
may be programmed to grow, it is only ‘man’ who aspires to ‘evolve’. No technological
advancement can be fully successful and truly contribute to human upliftment as long as it is
rooted in human ignorance. Purification of human intention to rise in consciousness is how
we can bring true human intention and technological action together in the poise of conscious
collaboration for the next leap in human evolution.

Introduction

Our actions are a direct reflection of our
intentions. What we wish for or believe in,
is what we give our energy to. Be it choosing
a life partner or a career, what we look for is
what is in tune with our thoughts and beliefs.
In spite of that, we find ourselves so often in
the midst of chaos and confusion which may
lead to a disharmonious state of existence and
leave us wondering where we went wrong.
All we wanted was to create a happier and
meaningful life for ourselves. Although
there is no single and simple answer to this
question, the core remains the same — living
in Ignorance. Sri Aurobindo says that, “Man
is a transitional being.” Human beings are a
